The Institute of Foresters of AustraliaCITATIONDavid Wettenhall RPF™ is recognised by the Institute of Foresters of Australia (IFA) as a Registered Professional Forester having a high level of expertise and up-to-date qualifications and experience within the following nominated area of forestry: General
Practicing Forester which
includes skills ,knowledge and experience in plantation establishment and
management, forest policy forest inventory/valuation, trees on farms, codes of
practice (WA), harvest planning, project evaluation and management, and
environmental management systems. The period of registration is 15 November 2001 to 14 November 2003 The
RPF™ is a Voting Member of the IFA and generally has a minimum of five years
relevant professional experience, at least two of which comprises relevant
Australian experience. The RPF™ has completed an annual total of 30 hours of
continuing professional development. To
be accepted to the Register, the RPF™ must demonstrate a commitment to the IFA
Code of Ethics. The maintenance of
professional indemnity insurance is also a condition of acceptance as an RPF™.
The assessment of skills, knowledge and experience is based on statements
of claim and written evidence submitted by the applicant.
Recognised experts within the IFA or other bodies assess the applications
within the nominated field(s). The
assessment criteria address the ability of the applicant to acquire, maintain
and apply up-to-date professional knowledge of forestry.
The assessors may also make enquiries of the applicant or other sources
to confirm their assessment. The
Registration Committee consults with the applicant’s referees to verify the
applicant’s statement of claim. Where
the Registration Committee requires additional information to determine whether
an applicant meets the criteria for registration, the applicant may be
interviewed by a panel comprising the Registration Committee and in some cases
the assessors who review the application. Only
applicants who fully meet the requirements for registration are accepted into
the Register. The RPF™ scheme is
subject to audit by an independent quality auditor. The
IFA aims to ensure the highest standards of the RPF™ scheme and the accuracy
of the information on the Register of Professional Foresters.
The IFA recommends that clients of Registered Professional Foresters ask
to see the citations given to these professionals by the IFA on acceptance of
the RPF™ to the Register. Each
citation describes the expertise of the RPF™ and the criteria and methodology
on which the opinion was based; each
citation is issued for a period of one year.
The client is responsible for ensuring that the RPF™ has the expertise
the client requires. The IFA
accepts no responsibility or liability for services that fail to meet the
expectations or requirements of clients of the RPF™. In accordance with the provisions of the Registered Professional Forester scheme, David Wettenhall RPF™ was admitted to the Register by resolution of the Board on 15 November 2001. |
